Safety First When Selling Your Home

To sell your home you have to show your home.  This means that a bonded and trustworthy Realtor will be bringing potential buyers in to your home and they will be in your most personal spaces.  As your trusted advisor, my first priority is maintaing your safety, securtiy and privacy while performing my duties of selling your home. 

As a rule you need to remove any items of value from sight and preferably lock them up in a safe if you have one.  Small things like jewelry, keys, credit cards and cash need to be out of sight. 

Use this list to clear your home and protect you and your family.  It's a good idea to keep these items in a safe place at all times, but especially when you are in the process of selling your home.

High Risk Items to Remove or Lock Up:

  • Cash
  • Credit Cards
  • Bank Statements/Checkbooks
  • Jewelry
  • Keys
  • Perscription Medications
  • Firearms, knives and any type of weapon
  • Valuable Items that are breakable
  • Passports, Birth Certificates, Social Securty Cards and any other documents that have personal information on them. 
  • Small Valuable Items….if can fit in a pocket remove it.

It's always best to be safe rather than sorry.  Protect yourself from loss and liability.  The inforgraphic below is a simple guideline to follow when selling your home.

Can The Spouse Of A Veteran Get A VA Loan?

If you are the Spouse of a Veteran and meet the Eligibility Requirements below you are entitled to use your VA Loan Benefits.  You've earned it and you can use it.











Spouse Eligibility

The spouse of a Veteran can also apply for home loan eligibility under one of the following conditions:

  • Unremarried spouse of a Veteran who died while in service or from a service connected disability, or
  • Spouse of a Servicemember missing in action or a prisoner of war
  • Surviving spouse who remarries on or after attaining age 57, and on or after December 16, 2003
    (Note: a surviving spouse who remarried before December 16, 2003, and on or after attaining age 57, must have applied no later than December 15, 2004, to establish home loan eligibility. VA must deny applications from surviving spouses who remarried before December 6, 2003 that are received after December 15, 2004.)
  • Surviving Spouses of certain totally disabled veterans whose disability may not have been the cause of death
