To sell your home you have to show your home. This means that a bonded and trustworthy Realtor will be bringing potential buyers in to your home and they will be in your most personal spaces. As your trusted advisor, my first priority is maintaing your safety, securtiy and privacy while performing my duties of selling your home.
As a rule you need to remove any items of value from sight and preferably lock them up in a safe if you have one. Small things like jewelry, keys, credit cards and cash need to be out of sight.
Use this list to clear your home and protect you and your family. It's a good idea to keep these items in a safe place at all times, but especially when you are in the process of selling your home.
High Risk Items to Remove or Lock Up:
- Credit Cards
- Bank Statements/Checkbooks
- Perscription Medications
- Firearms, knives and any type of weapon
- Valuable Items that are breakable
- Passports, Birth Certificates, Social Securty Cards and any other documents that have personal information on them.
- Small Valuable Items….if can fit in a pocket remove it.
It's always best to be safe rather than sorry. Protect yourself from loss and liability. The inforgraphic below is a simple guideline to follow when selling your home.
